Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is seeking a Verification Assurance Officer (VAO) to join a new frontline team in the Southern region. Based in a Jobcentre location, you will interview claimants and collaborate with colleagues to tackle fraud at the outset.

You will strengthen verification controls, educate customers on responsibilities, and raise awareness among Jobcentre staff of fraud indicators. This role requires face-to-face work and travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Work with Jobcentre/Service Centre colleagues to conduct initial and further evidence interviews and verification activities.
• Conduct robust interviews to verify documents for identification, housing costs, and Universal Credit elements.
• Hold review meetings with customers when ERT and customer agree to bring in evidence.
• Provide regular fraud-trend feedback at office meetings and feed information to DWP risk/intelligence teams.
• Lead customer education sessions with Jobcentre colleagues to explain customer responsibilities and consequences of non-compliance.
• Collate and maintain accurate Management Information (MI) as directed by analysts and performance teams.
