Job summary

Government Recruitment Service in Bridgnorth is seeking a Verification Assurance Officer to join a new frontline fraud verification team. This permanent, full-time role focuses on interviewing claimants and verifying documents to prevent fraud entering the welfare system.

The VAO will work closely with Jobcentre colleagues on-site, delivering robust interviews, MI reporting, and customer education sessions to reinforce responsibilities and compliance.

Qualifications

• This role involves interviewing claimants and verifying documents related to identification, housing costs, children and childcare costs within Universal Credit.
• You will provide regular feedback on fraud trends and contribute to risk and intelligence efforts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and further evidence interviews and verification activities with Jobcentre and Service Centre colleagues.
• Lead customer education sessions to clarify responsibilities and consequences of non-compliance.
• Collate and maintain accurate Management Information (MI) as directed by analysts.
