Job summary

Sandwell Local Area Partnership is seeking a Housing Services Officer to provide a proactive tenancy and estate management service. This front-line role tackles complex cases to sustain tenancies, prevent nuisance, and address environmental crime while spotting safeguarding needs among vulnerable residents.

You will champion tenant engagement, improve neighbourhood safety and standards, and support Sandwell's vision of good-quality homes across the borough.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience dealing tenancy-related services to customers.
• Good understanding of social housing tenancy and estate management issues.
• Awareness of safeguarding and wellbeing concerns and interventions.
• Knowledge of local and national issues impacting social housing tenants.

Responsibilities

• Identify and raise concerns around building and home safety during home and estate checks.
• Ensure customer concerns are dealt with promptly and fairly to avoid escalation.
• Champion tenant voice and tenant/resident engagement in all forms.
• Contribute to delivering a proactive tenancy and estate management service.
• Support community goals around safety, anti-social behaviour, and environmental commitments.
