Job summary

4Recruitment Services seeks a Housing Solutions Officer - Advice & Assessment to join a frontline housing team in Huddersfield. You will provide expert advice, assess housing needs, and help prevent homelessness while ensuring compassionate support to customers.

The role involves liaising with internal teams and external partners, conducting home visits where required, and maintaining accurate case records in line with policies and safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation.
• Understanding of housing-related benefits.
• Experience delivering frontline service in a busy environment.
• Strong negotiation, mediation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate sensitively and compassionately with diverse customers.
• Confidence using IT systems to maintain case information.
• Driving licence and access to a car desirable.
• Basic DBS check requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prevent homelessness through early intervention and assess statutory duties.
• Carry out homelessness assessments and decisions under housing legislation.
• Deliver frontline services and support customers who are homeless or at risk.
• Prepare written communications for customers and parties.
• Refer customers to temporary accommodation when needed.
