Job summary

Sheffield City Council in Sheffield is seeking an enthusiastic Housing Advice Assistant to join the Housing Advice Service. You will be the first point of contact for customers and partner organisations, providing empathetic and practical housing advice.

The role focuses on triaging, offering housing options, and assisting with Housing Register applications while working with internal teams to prevent homelessness and support residents with diverse needs.

• Applying the Council's Allocations Policy and housing legislation considerations.
• Discussing realistic housing options including the private rented sector.
• Supporting Housing Register updates and annual reviews.
• Maintaining accurate customer records and managing workload.
• Collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
• Safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
