Job summary

Glasgow Marriott Hotel is seeking a motivated Front Desk Supervisor to support the Front Office Manager in leading our Front Desk team. This hands-on role focuses on daily operations, guest satisfaction and staff development.

You will coach the team, ensure smooth check-in/out, handle guest queries, and work with Reservations and Housekeeping to optimise guest experiences. A positive, proactive attitude and strong English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hotel Front Desk, Reception or Front Office role.
• Supervisory experience is desirable but not essential.
• Knowledge of Opera PMS is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise in a busy environment.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Good spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support the Front Desk team during daily operations.
• Deliver exceptional guest service from arrival through to departure.
• Ensure accurate check-in, check-out, billing and reservations in Opera PMS.
• Train, coach and develop team members to Marriott standards.
• Handle guest feedback and resolve queries professionally and efficiently.
• Identify upselling opportunities to maximise room revenue.
• Collaborate with Reservations, Housekeeping and other departments for seamless operations.
• Ensure cash handling, banking procedures and security compliance.
• Maintain health & safety, fire safety and security standards.
• Complete shift handovers and maintain front office communications.
• Monitor stock levels and uphold operational standards.
