Job summary

The Ministry of Justice is recruiting for an administrative role within the Probation Service (PS) Directorate in HMPPS. You will act as first point of contact for visitors, provide reception duties and a range of office-based administrative support.

You will work collaboratively with other team members, support multiple teams as required, and cover during absences with training provided. Core hours may include unsocial hours as needed by the business.

Qualifications

• Reception experience and customer service.
• Ability to handle confidential information in line with policy.
• Willingness to cover core hours including unsocial times.

Responsibilities

• Be first point of contact for Probation Service visitors, greeting them professionally and issuing passes.
• Provide reception duties and a range of administrative support across teams and functions.
• Coordinate building logistics: mail handling, PPE orders, stationery, meeting rooms and event registrations.
• Support Health & Safety and security: act as key holder, monitor CCTV, assist evacuation and act as Fire Warden/First Aider when required.
