Job summary

TipTopJob in St Albans is seeking an energetic Internal Sales Executive to drive freight and logistics sales. The role focuses on developing new and existing client relationships, preparing quotations, and converting opportunities into new business, with training and mentoring provided.

You will join a team of five, work Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, and benefit from a starting salary of around £30,000 plus experience-dependent progression.

Qualifications

• Outbound telephone engagement to maximise potential with new and existing clients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
• Good attention to detail and a positive attitude.
• Ability to build lasting relationships with clients.
• Experience in sales, customer service or account management advantageous.
• Freight or logistics experience would be beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Maximise the potential of new and existing clients, primarily through outbound telephone engagement.
• Build strong working relationships with prospective and existing customers.
• Identify and develop new sales opportunities.
• Negotiate effectively with clients and suppliers.
• Prepare and submit competitive quotations.
• Follow up quotations, overcome objections and convert opportunities into business.
• Explain the customs formalities required when shipping goods into and out of the European Union.
• Manage and develop existing customer accounts.
• Attend weekly sales meetings.
• Participate in client meetings through Microsoft Teams or face-to-face when required.
