Job summary

TLP in Ipswich is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding Team Leader to head a small team and oversee import/export operations. The role is hands-on with leadership responsibilities, a salary of £40,000-£50,000 plus bonus, and benefits including free parking and a pension.

Flexible hours include 8.30-5pm or 9am-5.30pm, with the chance to influence processes as the company grows. You will manage a two-person team, handle quotations and customer accounts, guide customs procedures and liaise

Qualifications

• Strong freight forwarding experience.
• Good knowledge of customs and import/export procedures.
• Experience with quoting and customer management.
• Previous team-leading or supervisory experience.
• Experience using Multifreight, Destin8 and Claris CNS.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive, commercially minded approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of two.
• Manage import and export freight forwarding operations.
• Prepare quotations and manage customer accounts.
• Handle customs procedures and documentation.
• Liaise with customers, hauliers, shipping lines, agents and other partners.
• Keep shipments moving and resolve the 'Where is my shipment?' moments.
• Help improve processes as the company grows.
• Keep the team organised and commercially focused.
