Job summary

Vincere in Felixstowe is seeking a Freight Forwarder (Customs Clearance) to manage end-to-end import/export shipments across sea, air and road. You will handle declarations, ensure compliance, and coordinate EU movements while maintaining strong relationships with partners and customers.

The role requires proven freight forwarding experience, strong customs knowledge, excellent communication and organisational skills, and a proactive, solution-oriented approach within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end import/export freight forwarding (sea, air & road).
• Handle customs declarations and ensure compliance with tariff codes and origin.
• Coordinate EU movements and liaise with lines, hauliers, agents and suppliers.
• Prepare shipping documents (B/Ls, customs entries).
• Track shipments, resolve delays and provide customer updates as main contact.
• Maintain audit-ready files and support process improvements.

About you Proven experience in freight forwarding (import/export; multimodal experience preferred) Strong knowledge of customs clearance processes and shipping documentation Excellent communication and organisational skills Able to prioritise and manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment Customer-focused, proactive and solutions-driven Confident IT user (experience with forwarding/customs systems is an advantage)

Key responsibilities Manage end-to-end import/export freight forwarding (sea, air & road) Handle customs declarations and ensure compliance, including tariff codes, valuation and origin Coordinate EU movements (FTL/LTL, groupage & intermodal) and liaise with lines, hauliers, agents and suppliers Prepare and process all shipping documentation (B/Ls, customs entries, related paperwork) Track shipments, resolve delays, and provide clear customer updates as main point of contact Maintain accurate, audit-ready job files and build strong customer/supplier relationships Quote and negotiate rates, support process improvements, and assist the wider team when needed
