Job summary

The Martin Veasey Partnership is seeking a Business Development Manager for Freight Forwarding, based in Cambridgeshire or the North West. You will win new forwarding business and own what you bring, with a clear path to branch leadership.

You bring a proven book of business or strong network, deep knowledge of ocean and road freight, and a structured prospecting approach to win importers and freight decision makers across the region.

Qualifications

• You have built a book of business or a strong network you could work from day one.
• You understand ocean and road freight with working knowledge of customs to hold credible conversations with importers.
• You have a structured approach to prospecting and can describe how you found and converted business.
• You are hungry, resilient, and capable of building from a low base with persistence in early months.

Responsibilities

• Find, approach and win new forwarding customers and own what you bring.
• Build and work a structured target list of importers and freight decision makers across the region.
• Map decision makers, use multiple routes in, and grow and retain the accounts won.
• Maintain pipeline records so progress is visible and lead the branch as performance merits.
