Job summary

Martin Veasey Talent Solutions is seeking a Business Development Manager for Freight Forwarding in Cambridgeshire or the North West. You will identify, approach and win new forwarding customers, owning your pipeline and accounts to deliver measurable results.

The role offers a base of 50,000–65,000 with an uncapped quarterly bonus (15% of branch EBIT) and a long-term incentive (10% of branch EBIT). Office and field based, with a clear path to branch leadership.

Qualifications

• You are a business developer with a demonstrable record of winning new business in freight forwarding.
• You have a book of business or a strong network you can leverage from day one.
• You understand ocean and road freight with working knowledge of customs.
• You have a structured prospecting approach and can explain how you found and converted business.
• You are hungry, resilient and capable of building from a low base with growing pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Find, approach and win new forwarding customers, owning what you bring.
• Build a structured target list of importers and freight decision makers across the region.
• Map decision makers, pursue multiple routes, and grow and retain accounts with visible pipeline.
• As the branch grows, take on coaching and leadership responsibility with a route into leading the branch.
