Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for financial insight and business performance? We're looking for a dynamic and commercially astute FP&A Manager to join our team and help shape the financial future of our SSE Thermal business.
SSE Thermal is at the forefront of the UK and Ireland's energy transition, developing and operating a portfolio of flexible generation and thermal energy storage assets. With a strong commitment to decarbonisation, we are investing significantly in low‑carbon technologies, including carbon capture and hydrogen‑ready infrastructure. Our capital investment plans are ambitious, targeting over £2 billion in the coming years to support net zero goals. We also operate through a number of strategic joint ventures, enabling us to scale innovation and deliver impact across the energy sector.
As FP&A Manager responsible for Capital Investment and Joint Ventures, you'll lead a small team of FP&A Accountants and play a pivotal role in delivering high‑quality financial planning, analysis, and reporting. You'll work closely with the Head of FP&A and Business Partners to provide strategic insight, challenge assumptions, and support decision‑making across the SSE Thermal business.
SSE has a bold ambition—to be a leading energy company in a net zero world. We're investing around £10 million a day in homegrown energy to help power a cleaner, more secure future. Our investment will see us build the world's largest offshore wind farm and transform the grid to deliver greener electricity to millions.
Enjoy discounts on private healthcare and gym memberships. Wellbeing benefits such as a free online GP and 24/7 counselling service. Interest‑free loans on tech and transport season tickets, or a new bike with our Cycle to Work scheme. Generous family entitlements such as maternity and adoption pay, and paternity leave.
SSE will make any reasonable adjustments you need to ensure that your application and experience with us is positive. Please contact francesca.palmer@sse.com / 01738 344763 to discuss how we can support you. We're dedicated to fostering an open and inclusive workplace where people from all backgrounds can thrive. We create equal opportunities for everyone to succeed and especially welcome applications from those who may not be well represented in our workforce or industry.

We'll be in touch after the closing date to let you know if we'll be taking your application further. If you're offered a role with SSE, you'll need to complete a criminality check and a credit check before you start work.
