Dexory is hiring its first data capability leader to build a trusted, queryable foundation across operations, product, and contracts. You will architect the data layer, model core concepts, and define metrics to enable AI-safe querying and fast business value.

You will own the health of the data foundation, drive pragmatic build-vs-buy decisions, and recruit/mentor a growing team as the function scales within a fast-moving logistics tech startup.

Qualifications

• Senior data/analytics engineer with ownership of architecture and source-of-truth decisions.
• Fluent SQL, strong data modelling, and modern data stack experience (Databricks, dbt, Python).
• Experience with AI automation tooling using LLMs and agents.
• Proven ability to integrate multiple operational and SaaS systems (Databricks, HubSpot, Pendo, Grafana).
• Excellent communication to align non-technical stakeholders on definitions and ownership.
• Knowledge of data quality, deduplication, or entity resolution concepts.

Responsibilities

• Build the data foundation by consolidating data into a single queryable layer and define core concepts (customer, site, deployment, contract).
• Embed data security as a core design principle in architecture and engineering work.
• Model performance and SLAs to make customer/site outcomes auditable on demand.
• Define a metrics vocabulary and a 'metrics bible' for AI and reporting.
• Use AI automation to connect systems, enable self-serve data with NLP and context-aware answers.
• Collaborate with engineering, platform, autonomy and perception teams to expose clean source data.
• Own data foundation health: monitor pipelines, adapt to source changes, preserve trust.
• Make build-vs-buy decisions and set engineering standards for the future team with early wins.
• Help define, recruit and mentor the growing data function.
