GM Performance Power Units seeks a Battery Controls Engineer to develop and optimize embedded software for the HV battery management system and related components. You will implement real-time control algorithms, sensor data acquisition, and diagnostics in a high-performance motorsport environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform MiL/SiL/HiL testing, and ensure software quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or related field; or Bachelor's with 5+ years in embedded software.
• Expertise in battery management systems and battery control algorithms (protection/derating, SOC, SOH).
• Experience with CAN/CAN FD, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART and real-time software in automotive or motorsport contexts.

Responsabilités

• Develop, test, and maintain embedded software for HV battery management.
• Implement sensor data acquisition, hardware abstraction layers, real-time comms, and diagnostics features.
• Collaborate with controls and electrical hardware teams for cohesive system operation.
• Perform MiL/SiL/HiL testing and trackside testing support.
• Create requirements and unit tests; maintain robust, clean code and documentation.
