Job summary
GM Performance Power Units Concord, NC is seeking a Battery Controls Engineer to develop embedded software for the HV battery management system and ERS for Formula 1 applications. You will implement real-time control algorithms, perform MIL/SIL/HIL testing, and collaborate across controls and electrical hardware to ensure robust operation on high-performance powertrains.
The role requires strong C/C++ and RTOS experience, knowledge of CAN/Ethernet, and a background in battery physics.
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or related.
- Bachelor's with 5+ years embedded software experience in automotive or motorsport.
- Expertise in battery management systems and control algorithms.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain embedded software for HV battery systems.
- Implement real-time control and data acquisition with diagnostics.
- Perform MiL/SiL/HiL testing and trackside support.
- Produce requirements and unit tests; ensure safety and quality.
