First Military Recruitment is recruiting a Forklift Operator for a role in Thame, Oxfordshire. The position covers transport yard and warehouse duties with a morning shift and occasional Saturday morning work.

You will handle pallets, load vehicles, and use logistics systems in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has a Counterbalance forklift licence (preferred) and experience in transport or warehousing.

Responsibilities

• Move or collect items from the warehouse to vehicles.

• Be proficient in using systems for manifests and MS packages.
• Work closely with transport team and stakeholders to ensure efficient processes.
• Ensure pallets are scanned and labelled correctly for daily deliveries.
• Ensure pallets are allocated to correct vehicles and escalate issues as needed.
• Support the Transport Manager and Shift Supervisors to meet Health & Safety regulations.

MS722 - Forklift Operator

Location: Thame, Oxfordshire

Salary: £29,600 per annum

Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Forklift Operator on behalf of one of our clients.

This role is based in the Transport yard and warehouse - You will be required to work across various activities to support the Pallet Network activities with our morning shift Forklift operations. You will need to be flexible, willing to adapt and learn and will be comfortable working in a transport and warehouse environment. You will work a 45 hour work week, working Monday - Friday, roughly 6:30am - 4:30pm. You will be required to work one Saturday morning per month, between 5am - 11am.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• You will be required to support in various areas of the Transport and warehouse departments. This will include moving or collecting items from the warehouse to vehicles.
• You will be required to effectively communicate with various people at all levels within the business. You will be working closely with all members of the
• team.
• You will be required to monitor and respond to e-mails and telephone calls from clients, depots and colleagues.
• Our pallet networks use specific systems to manage their manifests and as such, you will be required to be proficient in using all the appropriate systems along with all Microsoft packages.
• You will be required to work very closely with the other members of the transport team as well as key stakeholders to ensure all operational processes are efficient.
• A key part of the role is ensuring that all of the pallets that are delivered from the hub are accurately scanned and labelled in preparation for the daily deliveries.
• You will be responsible for ensuring that all the pallets you handle have the appropriate labels and are allocated to the correct vehicles (escalating any issues).
• Supporting the Transport Manager and Shift Supervisors where required to ensure all Health & Safety regulations are met.
• Complying with all Health & Safety regulations as set out by regulatory bodies.
