Job summary

Morrisons is seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to keep our FMCG production site running at peak efficiency. You will maintain, repair, and improve machinery with hands-on technical work, tackling downtime and optimizing performance.

Ideal candidates hold NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (ONC/BTEC) in mechanical/electrical engineering, with strong diagnostics, and a proactive approach to reliability and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (ONC mechanical/electrical engineering, BTEC Level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering)
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems used in FMCG industry
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery such as conveyors, motors, pumps and packaging equipment
• Proactive approach to maintenance and equipment reliability
• Understanding HACCP principles; IEE qualification up to 18th edition wiring regulations advantageous
• Excellent communication skills; ability to make decisions on the spot

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on production equipment, identifying and resolving potential issues
• Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns, diagnose problems and perform repairs or coordinate with external specialists
• Carry out machine adjustments and changeovers to support production line efficiency and minimise downtime
• Monitor and calibrate equipment to ensure accuracy, quality and safety standards
• Collaborate with production teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and provide technical expertise
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, maintenance schedules, repairs and spare parts inventory
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and stay updated with industry advancements
