Job summary

Bestway Group is seeking a Category Manager to lead category plans across the business, maximise sales and profit for Bestway and our retailers. The role covers ranging, pricing, strategy development, supplier management, and promotional planning while supporting marketing.

You will mentor Category Assistants, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive own-brand strategy to balance branded and own-label products. Experience in FMCG Wholesale or Retail and strong negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in FMCG Wholesale or Retail (Buying, Sales or Category Management).
• Strong negotiating and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to develop and deliver Category Strategy and promotional plans.
• Numerate with ability to analyse performance and market data.
• Tenacity, determination and assertiveness to achieve commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver budgeted sales, wholesale margin, and cash profit targets.
• Maximise product availability across categories.
• Collaborate with suppliers to generate Joint Business Plans.
• Define and implement Category strategy and plans.
• Negotiate income from suppliers for media promotions.
• Range and price products per policy and strategy.
• Analyse promotional effectiveness and forecasts.
