Job Description

We are recruiting a fluvial flood risk modelling officer to join our national flood risk evidence modelling service. The team supports and assures the Environment Agency’s Flood and Coastal Risk Management programmes to deliver our core ambition of a nation resilient to climate change. Our modelling services provide the evidence base for flood management and inform strategic decision‑making, supporting the ambitions of EA2030.

Responsibilities
  • Advise and guide flood risk management teams on hydraulic and hydrological modelling.
  • Develop your own data management, hydraulic and hydrological modelling capabilities.
  • Communicate flood risk analysis and results with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advise on appropriate tools and techniques for hydrological and hydraulic modelling approaches.
  • Demonstrate positive health, safety and wellbeing behaviours.
  • Use your technical skills to support incident management.
Qualifications
  • Experience in science, flood risk and/or data management.
  • Ability to analyse and process data and information.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to influence and persuade.
  • Ability to achieve results and work as part of a team.
