Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking flexible SEN Teaching Assistants for day-to-day supply across Exeter schools. You will provide 1:1 and small group support, assist teachers, and help pupils with emotional regulation and learning needs.

Work days are typically Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, in various Exeter schools. The role suits dedicated individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and aim to make a positive difference in pupils’ lives.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs in school, care or youth settings.
• Patient, resilient and proactive approach to pupil engagement.
• Strong communication skills and adaptability to new environments.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply for one, to work with children.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group learning support tailored to EHCPs.
• Assist teachers with managing group dynamics and inclusive learning environments.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, sensory needs and transitions throughout the day.
• Encourage independence, engagement and confidence across various age groups.
• Adapt quickly to different school settings and requirements.
