Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a flexible SEN Teaching Assistant for day-to-day supply across Exeter’s schools. You will provide 1:1 and small group support, assisting with EHCPs and helping maintain an inclusive classroom environment.

The role emphasizes patience, resilience, and strong communication, with daily hours 8:30 AM–3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, and a DBS update service as preferred. Varied school settings offer meaningful pupil impact.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young adults with special educational needs.
• Patient, resilient and proactive approach to pupil engagement.
• Strong communication skills and ability to adapt quickly to new environments.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group learning support tailored to EHCPs.
• Assist classroom teachers with managing group dynamics and a positive learning environment.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, sensory needs and routine transitions.
• Encourage independence, engagement and confidence across age groups.
• Adapt quickly to different school settings and requirements.
