Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Flexible SEN Teaching Assistant for day-to-day supply across Exeter schools. You will support pupils with diverse learning needs, providing 1:1 and small group assistance within EHCP plans.

The role offers predictable hours (8:30 AM–3:30 PM, Monday to Friday) and a competitive daily rate of £92.56–£95.00, with opportunities to work across multiple primary and secondary settings in Exeter.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young adults with special educational needs.
• Patient, resilient and proactive approach to pupil engagement.
• Strong communication skills and ability to adapt quickly to new environments.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group learning support tailored to EHCPs.
• Assist classroom teachers with managing group dynamics and an inclusive environment.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, sensory needs, and routine transitions throughout the day.
• Encourage independence, engagement and confidence in pupils across age groups.
• Adapt quickly to different school settings and requirements.
