Job summary

Smile Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a part-time, long-term position in the Sutton Coldfield area. The role offers flexible hours and is payable at £90-£108 per day, with opportunities to work five days a week or just one.

You will support pupils across Early Years to Year 6, assisting with learning, behaviour, and classroom activities in welcoming primary schools.

Qualifications

Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable.
At least one year's experience working in a school setting.
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school.
Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons across Early Years to Year 6.
Working with individual pupils and small groups to support their learning, development and progress.
Encouraging positive behaviour and helping to create a calm, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Assisting pupils with varying abilities and learning needs, including those requiring additional support.
Helping to prepare classroom resources and learning activities to enhance pupil engagement.
Working collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and other school staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and academic development, helping them to build confidence and reach their full potential.
Assisting with playground duties, school activities, and other responsibilities as required by the school.
