Job summary

Locums First is seeking Locum Healthcare Assistants to support primary care services from Salmon Inn Road. Flexible sessions across local GP practices, with regular or ad-hoc bookings available, designed to suit your availability and patient-facing strengths.

In this role you’ll perform routine observations (BP, pulse, temp), assist in treatment rooms, conduct ECGs and basic health checks, and support phlebotomy if trained, while maintaining clear clinical documentation and patient education.

Qualifications

• Experience as HCA in primary care, community or NHS settings.
• Phlebotomy skills desirable.
• Ability to perform clinical observations confidently.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Adaptability across different primary care environments.
• Enhanced DBS check in place.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient observations (BP, pulse, temperature).
• Support treatment room procedures under clinical supervision.
• Conduct ECGs and basic health checks.
• Assist with phlebotomy if trained.
• Provide lifestyle advice and patient education.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Support clinicians with general duties where needed.
