Job summary

Locums First is seeking Locum Healthcare Assistants to work in Longtown across community clinics, GP surgeries and wider primary care services. You can choose shifts that fit your experience and weekly availability, with fully flexible sessions and weekday/evening/weekend options.

In this role you will support patient assessments, carry out routine clinical tasks, record notes accurately, and help maintain an efficient clinic environment. DBS checks and solid communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as an HCA in primary care, community or NHS settings.
• Phlebotomy skills beneficial.
• Confident performing standardised clinical tasks.
• Strong communication and time-management abilities.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conducting basic patient observations including BP, pulse and temperature
• Supporting routine treatment room procedures
• Carrying out ECGs and basic health checks
• Performing phlebotomy if trained
• Assisting with patient education and lifestyle advice
• Updating clinical notes accurately in service systems
• Providing general clinical support to nurses and GPs
