Job summary

Locums First is seeking locum Healthcare Assistants for opportunities in Whitland. This role offers flexible sessional work across community clinics, GP surgeries and broader primary care, letting you choose shifts that fit your experience and weekly availability.

You will support patient assessments, perform routine clinical procedures and help maintain an efficient clinic environment, with structured guidance to ensure clear expectations and smooth day-to-day workflow for all clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Experience working as an HCA in primary care, community or NHS settings.
• Phlebotomy skills beneficial.
• Confident in carrying out standardised clinical tasks.
• Strong communication and time-management abilities.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conducting basic patient observations including BP, pulse and temperature
• Supporting routine treatment room procedures
• Carrying out ECGs and basic health checks
• Performing phlebotomy if trained
• Assisting with patient education and lifestyle advice
• Updating clinical notes accurately in service systems
• Providing general clinical support to nurses and GPs
