Job summary

Locums First is seeking Locum Healthcare Assistants to work in Dawlish across local primary care services. You will support different primary care teams by performing routine observations, assisting in treatment room duties and contributing to smooth clinic flow.

Applicants should have HCA experience in primary care, with phlebotomy skills desirable. You will be offered fully flexible shifts across weekdays, evenings, or weekends, with regular or ad-hoc bookings available.

Qualifications

• Experience as HCA in primary care, community or NHS settings is preferred.
• Phlebotomy skills are desirable but not essential.
• Ability to Perform clinical observations confidently and accurately.
• Strong communication and patient interaction skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient observations (BP, pulse, temperature).
• Support treatment room procedures under clinical supervision.
• Conduct ECGs and basic health checks.
• Assist with phlebotomy if trained.
• Provide lifestyle advice and basic patient education.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
