Job summary

Locums First is seeking Locum Healthcare Assistants to provide flexible clinical support across local primary care services in Alcester. You will assist with routine observations, ECGs, basic health checks and phlebotomy where trained, while ensuring smooth clinic flow and accurate documentation.

Ideal candidates have prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS settings, strong communication skills, and DBS clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Healthcare Assistant in primary care, community or NHS settings.
• Phlebotomy skills are desirable.
• Ability to perform clinical observations confidently.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Adaptability across different primary care environments.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient observations such as BP, pulse and temperature.
• Support treatment room procedures under clinical supervision.
• Conduct ECGs and basic health checks.
• Assist with phlebotomy if trained.
• Provide lifestyle advice and basic patient education.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Support clinicians with general duties where needed.
