Job summary

Locums First is seeking Locum Healthcare Assistants in Newarthill to provide flexible clinical support across local primary care services. Sessions vary to suit HCAs with strong patient-facing skills and confidence in routine clinical tasks.

You will support primary care teams with vital observations, treatment room duties, ECGs, phlebotomy if trained, and patient education, contributing to smooth clinic flow and consistent workflows across services.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Healthcare Assistant in primary care, community or NHS settings.
• Confident in performing routine observations and patient care tasks.
• Enhanced DBS is required or in place.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient observations (BP, pulse, temp).
• Support treatment room procedures under clinical supervision.
• Conduce ECGs and basic health checks.
• Assist with phlebotomy if trained.
• Provide lifestyle advice and patient education.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Support clinicians with general duties as needed.
