Job summary

National Centre for Social Research is seeking Biomedical Fieldworkers to visit participants in their homes across the UK, collecting measurements and venous blood samples in line with guidelines. The role focuses on delivering high-quality data and participant experience.

You'll work approximately 12–16 hours per week with flexible weekday/evening/weekend slots, earning around £20.40 per hour plus mileage, and a DBS check will be required during onboarding.

Qualifications

• Healthcare or clinical setting experience.
• Venepuncture within last 24 months.
• Evidence of current Hepatitis B immunity.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Reliable home broadband connection.
• Willingness to complete the DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Visiting participants in their homes at pre-booked appointments.
• Taking physical measurements such as height, weight and blood pressure.
• Collecting venous blood samples in line with clinical guidelines.
• Recording accurate health data and maintaining confidentiality.
• Providing a professional, friendly and reassuring experience for participants.
• Supporting high quality research that influences public health decisions.
