Job summary

The National Centre for Social Research is seeking Biomedical Fieldworkers to visit participants at home across the UK, collecting health information and venous blood samples for national health surveys.

You will work independently, manage your own diary, and contribute to important public health research with flexible, part-time hours and mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Healthcare professional with clinical setting experience.
• Registered healthcare status is advantageous but not essential.
• Venepuncture experience within last 24 months.
• Evidence of Hepatitis B immunity.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Willingness to travel within 60–90 minutes of the advertised location.
• Reliable home broadband connection.
• Availability of ~12–16 hours per week across weekdays, evenings and weekends.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage diary within guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Visit participants in their homes at pre-booked appointments.
• Take physical measurements (height, weight, blood pressure).
• Collect venous blood samples per clinical guidelines.
• Record accurate health data and maintain confidentiality.
• Provide a professional, friendly experience for participants.
• Support high-quality research influencing public health decisions.
