Job summary

National Centre for Social Research requires Biomedical Fieldworkers to conduct home visits across the UK, performing health measurements and venous blood collection in line with guidelines. You will maintain meticulous records, uphold confidentiality and provide a reassuring participant experience while supporting important public health research.

Ideal candidates have healthcare experience, venepuncture readiness within 24 months, Hepatitis B immunity, a full UK driving licence, and flexible

Qualifications

• Experience within a healthcare or clinical setting.
• Registered healthcare professional status is advantageous but not essential.
• Proven venepuncture experience within the last 24 months.
• Evidence of current Hepatitis B immunity.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• A reliable home broadband connection.
• Availability of approximately 12 to 16 hours per week across weekdays, evenings and weekends.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence working alone and managing your own diary within set guidelines and deadlines.
• The right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to complete the required vetting process, including a DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Visiting participants in their homes at pre-booked appointments.
• Taking physical measurements such as height, weight and blood pressure.
• Collecting venous blood samples in line with clinical guidelines.
• Recording accurate health data and maintaining confidentiality.
• Providing a professional, friendly and reassuring experience for participants.
• Supporting high quality research that influences public health decisions.
