Job summary

Kent County Council in Canterbury is seeking a part-time Support Worker to join our residential short breaks service at Whitstable Road for adults with learning disabilities. You will support people to enjoy breaks, help with personal care and health needs, work with families and external professionals, and participate in induction and development programmes.

Sleep-ins and flexible shifts are part of the role.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or willingness to achieve this within two years)
• Completion of the Care Certificate if not already held
• Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or autism
• Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities
• Ability to take personal and professional responsibility for your practice

Responsibilities

• Supporting people to enjoy their break and engage in meaningful activities

• Providing support with personal care, medication and health needs
