Job summary

SENse Learning in Southampton seeks a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support for young people with diverse needs. Roles include Education Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, and Education Mentor; positions are ongoing and self-employed with flexible schedules.

You will deliver creative, intervention-based activities in homes, on-site, or in community settings, building life skills, confidence and independence.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex needs (ASC, ADHD, SEMH, EBSA, trauma, PDA, mental health).
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references are preferred.
• Ability to work in a child-centred, holistic way and adapt activities to individual learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings with creative, interest-based activities.
• Support development of life skills, confidence, and independence.
• Use trauma-informed approaches and flexible strategies to support diverse needs.
• Provide feedback to track progress and adapt support as needed.
