Job summary

SENse Learning is seeking Education Assistants in Southampton to mentor and support SEND learners. You will provide one-to-one learning in homes and community settings, delivering creative, holistic activities that build confidence and life skills. Roles require trauma-informed approaches, strong relationship skills, and DBS clearance.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex additional needs (e.g. ASC, ADHD, SEMH, EBSA, trauma).
• Understanding of child-centred, holistic approaches and ability to adapt curriculum to individual learners.
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references preferred.
• UK-based and right to work in the UK, including remote/online opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people who may face challenges in education settings.
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings, delivering creative activities.
• Support development of life skills, confidence and independence, using trauma-informed strategies.
• Provide feedback to track progress and adapt support as needed.
