Job summary

SENse Learning in Bournemouth is seeking Learning Support Assistants to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support for young people with SEND. The role offers flexible part-time to full-time hours, with in-person, hybrid, and community-based opportunities and self-employed contracts.

You will build trusting relationships, deliver creative activities, and support life skills and independence while applying trauma-informed approaches.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience working with children or young people with complex needs (SEND).
• Enhanced DBS (we can assist) and two professional references.
• UK-based with right to work; flexible, compassionate approach.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people who may have faced challenges in education settings.
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings with creative, interest-based activities.
• Support development of life skills, confidence, and independence.
• Use trauma-informed approaches and flexible strategies to support a wide range of needs.
• Provide feedback and reflections to track progress and adapt support.
