Job summary

The Supply Register, in partnership with NCG, is seeking Learning Support Assistants to join our Further Education Supply Bank across South London. You will assist learners with varying needs, support lecturers, and contribute to an inclusive learning environment on a flexible, sessional basis.

Ideal candidates have GCSEs, experience in education or care settings, and a learner-centred mindset with a commitment to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• GCSEs A-C including English and Maths.
• Experience supporting learners or individuals in an educational, care, youth work or similar setting.
• Understanding of SEND and inclusive support strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive, professional relationships with learners and colleagues.
• Patient, empathetic and learner-centred approach.
• Adaptability to different environments and individual needs.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Reliability and flexibility in availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to help learners engage with their studies.
• Support learners with SEND, EHCPs and additional learning needs.
• Assist lecturers with classroom activities and adapt learning materials to meet individual needs.
• Promote learner confidence, independence, engagement and positive behaviour.
• Create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Help learners progress toward their learning objectives.
• Work with teaching staff to ensure learners receive appropriate assistance.
• Follow college safeguarding and health and safety requirements.
