Job summary

The Supply Register, on behalf of NCG, is recruiting Learning Support Assistants to join our Further Education Supply Bank across South London. You will support learners with varying needs, helping them access their studies and build confidence.

Role offers flexible, sessional opportunities across multiple colleges, with training and safeguarding in place, and the chance to gain experience across different curriculum areas while fitting around your availability.

Qualifications

• GCSEs at grades A-C, or equivalent qualifications, including English and Maths where required for the role.
• Experience supporting learners or individuals in an educational, care, youth work or similar support setting.
• Understanding of SEND, additional learning needs and inclusive support strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive, professional relationships with learners and colleagues.
• Patient, empathetic and learner-centred approach.
• Adapt to different environments and respond to individual needs.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Reliability, flexibility and a professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support to help learners engage with their studies.
• Supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, and additional learning needs.
• Assisting lecturers with classroom activities and adapting learning materials to meet individual needs.
• Promoting learner confidence, independence, engagement and positive behaviour.
• Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Helping learners progress towards their learning objectives.
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams to ensure learners receive appropriate assistance.
• Following college policies, safeguarding procedures and health and safety requirements.
