Job summary

Castle Education is seeking an flexible Education Support Worker to join our supply team in York. You will support nurseries, SEN settings and schools with flexible, ad-hoc shifts across York, choosing when you work and how much you take on.

The role suits students, parents or others seeking extra income with hours typically between 8am and 6pm. Level 2 Childcare qualification or related SEN experience is required; Level 3 is desirable but not essential.

Flexible Education Support Worker – Nursery & SEN

You’ll also have the opportunity to experience different settings and age groups, including:

• Nursery & Early Years – supporting children’s development, play and daily routines.
• SEN – supporting children and young people with additional needs, helping them engage in learning and develop confidence and independence.

What could you earn?

£14.24–£16.00 per hour. That’s approximately £113.92–£128 for an 8-hour day, or £56.96–£64 for a 4-hour shift.

What do you need?

For this role, you’ll need:

• Level 2 Childcare qualification OR relevant SEN/support experience
• Previous experience working with children or young people through employment, volunteering or placements
• A caring, reliable and positive approach
• A genuine interest in supporting children and young people

Level 3 Childcare or Early Years experience is desirable but not essential.

Some settings are accessible by walking or public transport, while others may require your own vehicle.
