Job summary

Northumberland County Council Staff Bank in Cramlington is seeking Community Hub Support Assistants to join a pool for temporary, ad-hoc roles at the Council’s Community Hubs. Assignments may range from sickness cover to longer-term placements (up to 12 months) with a pay rate of £13.70 per hour.

Daily tasks include serving food and drinks, assisting with bookings, light cleaning, setting up rooms for events, opening/closing the Hub, and providing basic digital support to visitors.

Qualifications

• General education, numeracy and literacy skills.
• Awareness of health and safety practices.
• Basic food hygiene knowledge (desirable).
• Bar and hospitality experience (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Serve food and drinks in the café and bar.
• Assist with bookings and maintain a welcoming hub environment.
• Carry out light cleaning and safety tasks to keep the hub in good shape.
• Support room setups for events and community sessions.
• Open and close the Hub as required.
• Provide basic digital and device support to visitors.
