Job summary

Dawsongroup Truck and Trailer is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Controller to coordinate breakdown support, authorise repairs, and keep customers informed to minimise downtime. You will work across trucks, trailers, vans and related equipment within a committed team.

You will be organised with strong communication, comfortable handling costs and invoices, and confident using computer systems. Flexible shift patterns apply after training, with funded training and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Excellent telephone manner and customer-focused approach.
• Able to think quickly, prioritise effectively and use sound judgement.
• Comfortable working with costs, invoices and financial information accurately.
• Good keyboard skills and confidence using computer systems.
• Willing to participate in flexible shift working after training.

Responsibilities

• Provide an efficient, 24-hour, 365-day breakdown service.
• Authorise maintenance and mechanical repairs across trucks, trailers, vans and associated equipment.
• Check maintenance history, warranty information and previous repairs before authorising work.
• Monitor repairs through to completion, ensuring safety, quality and relevant legislation are met.
• Work with repairers, suppliers, customers and internal teams to keep everything moving.
