Sound good? We’re looking for a Fleet Maintenance Controller to join us. You’ll ensure the Scottish Water fleet is maintained efficiently and cost-effectively. This will include managing maintenance schedules, coordinating repairs, handling accident notifications, and providing live support via calls to drivers and suppliers.
What you’ll do
You’ll help keep our fleet safe, legal, and operationally ready—making sure our teams have the vehicles they need to deliver essential services across Scotland. You’ll be the first point of contact on our live driver and supplier helpline, operating Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, resolving issues quickly and efficiently.
You’ll plan routine maintenance events in advance, ensuring compliance and proper documentation for reporting. You’ll use systems like Jaama, DTM, Convey, and Telematics to manage bookings, monitor fleet performance, and ensure smooth operations behind the scenes.
You’ll collaborate closely with our supplier network—authorising jobs, reviewing work for value, and managing the end-to-end process for invoicing. This includes resolving queries, raising purchase orders, and arranging payments, all with a focus on accuracy, transparency, and excellent service.
What you’ll need
You have experience working with fleets—vans, HGVs, or plant—and understand maintaining, safety, and compliance requirements. You’re confident planning ahead and managing maintenance schedules.
You’re familiar with fleet management systems and adaptable to new digital tools. You’re a strong communicator who can build good relationships with drivers, suppliers, and operational teams.
You’re flexible, organized, and open to change. You’re always looking for ways to improve processes and spot opportunities for better efficiency.
Bonus points if you’ve completed OLAT training or understand legal requirements for operating a commercial vehicle fleet, including operator license responsibilities.
Looking out for you
We value your work-life balance. You’ll enjoy 38 days of holiday annually (including public holidays), with options to buy five more. Paid time off for volunteering is also available.

For your future, we provide a pension scheme and life assurance. Additionally, you can benefit from an annual company bonus and access to SW Splash rewards for savings on holidays, bills, and shopping.
