Job Description
Position Overview
- Oversees daily department operations, including repairs, alterations, and installations.
- Leads the Maintenance function, providing reactive and proactive multi-skilled services on operational equipment and infrastructure.
- Creates and oversees scheduled maintenance, ensuring timely completion of work.
- Enhances operational effectiveness, improves project delivery, and reduces equipment failures and room downtime.
- Implements improvement plans, manages KPIs, and ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Manages technical best practices, establishes policies and procedures, and mentors team members.
- Identifies lifecycle deficiencies and produces capital budgets accordingly.
- Drives continuous improvement in maintenance services, recommending necessary changes.
Main Responsibilities
- Implements maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to improve performance, focusing on sustainable maintenance and energy reduction.
- Contributes to new initiatives, reviewing impacts on maintenance activities.
- Sets and manages preventative maintenance programs to ensure quality of FF&E and equipment.
- Controls costs related to invoices and external providers.
- Works with GMs to develop and monitor maintenance budgets, ensuring compliance.
- Prepares monthly energy reports.
Compliance
- Ensures adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies for staff and guest safety.
- Inspects work for compliance and takes corrective actions as needed.
- Conducts risk assessments of hotel processes and tasks.
Project Management
- Plans, manages, and coordinates maintenance projects and works, including budgeting.
- Prepares reports on project progress, issues, and resolutions.
- Delivers small-scale projects, ensuring quality and timely performance.
Recruitment & Personnel
- Recruits, supervises, and trains maintenance staff.
- Coaches and develops the team to high performance.
- Provides technical support and allocates human resources.
- Sets and reviews departmental KPIs and performance.
- Reports on targets and implements improvement actions.
- Ensures delivery of the People Strategy and conducts performance reviews.
