Job summary

Nationwide Platforms is seeking a General Manager for our Manchester depot to lead a flagship operation, driving profitability and ensuring outstanding customer service. You will manage budgets, oversee a team of department heads and develop future leaders, embedding a culture of discipline, accountability and continuous improvement.

This on-site role offers a salary from £60,000 p.a. (DOE), a company car or £8,750 cash allowance, private medical care, 25 days’ leave plus bank holidays, life

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a sizeable depot, logistics operation or similar customer-facing environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and performance.
• Experience leading via managers and developing future leaders.
• Passion for continuous improvement and optimizing operational performance.
• Ability to balance customer expectations with delivery and commercial outcomes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Collaborative approach to team and peer success.

Responsibilities

• Lead flagship depot operation and deliver outstanding operational performance.
• Own depot profitability, budgets and year-on-year performance improvement.
• Develop a team of department heads into high-performing units.
• Ensure departments work together to fulfil customer requirements and service.
• Drive a customer-first culture and keep customers at the heart of decisions.
• Optimise fleet utilisation, resource planning and productivity.
• Use data and KPIs to drive informed decisions and performance.
• Champion continuous improvement across processes and service.
