We have a great opportunity to join the Finance team at Aviva as a Financial Controls Transformation Manager.

This role involves supporting large-scale business-led change and finance transformation initiatives crucial for Aviva’s strategic growth. A bit about the job:

You’ll have the opportunity to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the control environment, including leveraging emerging technologies.

This role emphasizes the importance of a high-quality, sustainable control environment within finance transformation activities.

As a subject matter expert, you’ll collaborate with various stakeholders, generate ideas, challenge processes, and support delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Identifying opportunities to enhance the control environment through planned change activities.
2. Designing and implementing controls and integrating them into process improvements.
3. Assessing risks related to change delivery and designing mitigation strategies.
4. Supporting testing and business readiness activities during change delivery.
5. Contributing to the development of frameworks for risk and control assessments during change.

You will build relationships with finance transformation teams and gain an understanding of impacted processes, systems, and data. As this is a new role, there is an opportunity to develop it further to meet business needs. The role reports to the Financial Control Transformation Director and spans all finance areas at Aviva.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Qualified accountant with recent experience in financial control assurance or controls consultancy, with a focus on risk and control improvements.
• Good knowledge of the insurance industry and finance processes (operational and reporting).
• Experience with new technologies to improve control environment quality is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining SME knowledge to non-experts.
• Strong relationship management skills to achieve objectives through collaboration.

What you’ll get for this role:

• Competitive salary: circa £55,000 in general, £70,000 in London, depending on experience.
• Bonus opportunity: 10% of annual salary, performance-dependent.
