Job summary

hireful is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to lead core finance operations for our ambitious B2B service provider. Reporting to the Finance Director, you'll challenge past processes, streamline workflows and build robust controls in a hybrid role.

This role offers a £75,000 salary plus benefits, with three office days across Guildford, Woking, Farnham, Godalming. You will own month-end close, cashflow, multi‑entity reconciliations and lead the finance team.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with hands-on financial control experience.
• Experience leading finance teams and coaching staff.
• Willing to challenge workflows and modernize processes.
• Experience in high-volume, multi-entity environments.
• Background in travel, leisure, retail, or similar fast-paced environments is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close, balance sheet substantiation, and statutory reporting.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and multi-entity reconciliations.
• Provide strong people management to lead, coach, and develop the finance team.
• Constructively challenge operational assumptions and modernize financial systems and processes.
