Huntress is representing an established, employee-owned planning and development consultancy in Central London, seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to oversee day‑to‑day finance operations, strengthen controls and drive ERP implementation. You will partner with the Head of Finance to lead a small team and improve reporting accuracy.

You’ll manage month‑end, WIP and project profitability, support budgeting and forecasting, and help streamline processes while ensuring payroll, VAT and audits

Formación

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification, or significant relevant experience.
• Previous Financial Controller experience, or be a strong Senior Finance Manager ready to step up.
• An SME or professional services background, with solid experience in WIP, project accounting and project profitability.
• Experience leading a small finance team and overseeing month-end, management accounts, VAT and financial controls.
• Experience managing payroll processes and supporting audit requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills and hands-on ERP experience; knowledge of UNIT EPRx would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with a proactive approach to solving problems and improving processes.

Responsabilidades

• Financial reporting: Lead the month-end close across UK entities, prepare monthly management accounts and ensure accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
• Project accounting: Oversee WIP, project costs, revenue and profitability, ensuring financial performance is accurately monitored and reported.
• Planning and analysis: Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, providing meaningful insight to senior stakeholders.
• Team leadership: Lead, coach and develop the finance operations team across billing, credit control and accounts payable.
• Financial controls: Manage quarterly VAT returns, oversee outsourced payroll and related tax submissions, and coordinate audit activity.
• Systems and improvement: Support the implementation of a new ERP system, improve reporting accuracy and identify opportunities to streamline processes and increase automation.

An established, employee-owned planning and development consultancy is looking for a Financial Controller to oversee its day-to-day finance operations and help drive the finance function forward. Working closely with the Head of Finance, you'll lead a small team, while improving financial reporting, strengthening controls and supporting the implementation of a new ERP system.

What You'll Be Doing

About You
