Job summary

The Thrive Hive is seeking a Financial Controller in Basingstoke to take full ownership of the finance function and sit on the senior leadership team. You will report to the Managing Director and help shape the company’s financial strategy as it scales.

You will lead financial control, reporting and cashflow, while building robust processes, governance and supplier negotiations. The role offers hybrid working and clear progression toward future leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in financial control or senior finance roles.
• Strong technical accounting and reporting skills.
• Experience running a finance function in a growing business.
• Experience overseeing purchasing and procurement processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own financial control and monthly reporting, with a tight month-end close.
• Lead cashflow forecasting, working capital, budgeting and reforecasting.
• Provide clear financial insight and challenge to support senior decisions.
• Take charge of purchasing, establish procurement processes, negotiate with suppliers.
• Build scalable processes and integrate systems to reduce manual work and improve accuracy.
• Lead and develop the Finance Assistant and any future team members.
• Maintain governance, audit readiness and statutory compliance.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to solve problems and keep the business financially sound.
