Job summary

Taskmaster is a leading provider of workforce solutions to the industrial and driving sectors. A Financial Controller is required to lead finance and back-office functions with a hands-on, commercially minded approach.

You will manage monthly accounts, P&Ls, cash flow, payroll, and reporting, while partnering with leaders to improve profitability and drive efficiency. This Leeds-based, hybrid role offers influence in a growing, acquisitive business backed by investment.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Significant finance leadership experience in recruitment, staffing or professional services.
• Strong management accounting, forecasting and cashflow expertise.
• Experience leading finance and back-office teams and timesheet/margin models.

Responsibilities

• Lead Finance, Payroll, Pay & Bill and Credit Control with strong financial control.
• Produce monthly management accounts, branch P&Ls and performance reporting.
• Own weekly gross margin reporting; ensure payroll, billing and revenue reconciliations.
• Oversee payroll compliance and HMRC obligations.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and credit control.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Partner with operational leaders to improve profitability and efficiency.
• Drive process improvements and automation; maintain robust controls.
• Lead year-end audit and statutory reporting; mentor finance teams.
